I'm realizing that I have no idea which of my friends actually wear makeup. I tend to assume that none ever do, or perhaps a few do for special occasions only. But I could be way off base.
My boss is a woman, the kind who wears snazzy clothes and great shoes, and of course wears makeup. She has told our team she prefers when we dress well, so we look professional etc, especially compared with other teams on our floor who don't make much effort. She even said she prefers us (the females of us) to wear makeup.
I rarely wear makeup these days. Too much of a hassle. But on Halloween, when I dressed up in my corset and all that for work, I wore a bit of makeup.
Of course my boss noticed it and commented that it looked good. I told her I don't usually wear makeup because my boyfriend doesn't like it.
Which is true. Alex hates it when I wear makeup. He won't kiss me if I'm wearing lipstick. If I'm wearing eye makeup he says I look like a 15 year old whore.
Why? Because when I'm wearing makeup I don't look like ME. He says. But that's silly, because I'm always me. And I like wearing makeup sometimes. It makes me feel prettier.
Think of my sisters, though- Carissa never wears makeup at all, and Tina pretty much puts her face on in the morning. I like being in the middle ground.
