actually, I would really have liked that, as I didnt recognize a good number of those tapes and would like to learn more. Maybe you should teach a course at the community college and fall in love with one your students who will, of course, understand the glory of adhesives

One worth mentioning is friction tape. It is a fabric tape. The one time I saw it, it was black and about 3/4" wide. It is slightly adhesive, but tends to stick to only itself (under its own power). Sort of the anti-Teflon. It's great for bundling things together, or as a substitute for electrical tape.

cool! I've always had the problem that the adhesive on electrical tape dosent really do such an enduring job of sticking to the tape, and so tends to get all over things and covered with dirt. Blech. So when are you going to publish this online compendium, or Tape-ionary, as it may be called?
