MacBooks just showed up on Apple's online store in the refurbished section. About $1350 for the cheap one, the warranty, and a RAM upgrade from Newegg. So tempting...

EDIT: Mac owners, how necessary is the AppleCare warranty?

yes, having worked at a compusa for a year, i must say, get it. without it, you will literally get raped in the ass. Batterie dies - fucked. power adapter dies (that happens alot) - fucked. screen cracks - fucked. With applecare, it all goes away. so spend the 300 and get it.
