(no subject)

Every year from 1993 until 1998, I never saw fireworks, because my camp never did anything for the 4th. I vowed that I'd make fireworks a priority after that. For the next few years, I went to the old neighborhood fireworks, running into old friends and doing other generally neighborhood-like stuff. When that got boring a couple years ago, I started going to the big fireworks show at the Philly Art Museum. But even that was less than impressive pyrotechnically last year. (Plus, it was over too quick.) I think my standards have gone up since I was a kid. So this year, for the first time since camp, I've decided not to go see fireworks. See how much I miss them.

Happy 4th anyway, though.

Why did your camp never do anything for the 4th? I'd figure that'd be a huge thing at a camp.

My camp never did anything for the fouth of july...Except one summer when our director (who was 5'2) ran around with sparkelers on the basketball court wearing red white and blue top har, with an american flag sports jacket, and american flag boxers.
Whenever anyone mentions fourth of july at my camp, that story invariably comes up. Nothing more to see here.

At Longacre, we would go to this small-town Firefighters' sponsored carnival where I once met the official Dairy Princess of Perry Wayne County, PA.
