Update: 4 engagements in the past six weeks, all of whom are either people I see multiple times per month or are in a particularly close set of friends from high school. With a 5th possibly coming very soon.

And one death. (Yesterday, a friend's sister who I met a couple times).

This on top of the 4-6 weddings in my circle in the past two weeks (depending on how you define my circle), and one baby.

Even with the preponderance of the news being happy, it's still all overwhelming. Ready for the omer to be over soon, thanks.

Just you wait till you age cohort starts bragging about their kids graduating high school. That adjustment requires a good drink, specifically drink with a tropical umbrella and bendy straw.

Seems like half my old high school class is getting kids off to college this fall. Great news considering the economy and and their own modest levels of educational achievement. But, still, I was ready to be congratulating them on that accomplishment for, oh, another two to three decades at least.
