apartment update

During the course of 24 hours, I was surprised to find an apartment in Philly on Padmapper that was for July (my ideal time to move), went to visit it, fell in love with it, thought about it awhile, called to express my interest, and was rather sad to find out it was already taken.

Easy come, easy go? Consoling myself with the fact that I'm sure there'll be other nice ones once July gets a bit closer. But probably won't be this nice...

At least I'm 99% sure I have a New York sublet for the summer.

Yeah. You might find you need to be a bit more decisive when apartment hunting not in January. On our DC apartment, we expressed our intent the first visit, and signed the lease the next day. Of course, I'd already been looking for two months at that point, but the good ones can go quickly.

Did that work? My first attempt at logging in with OpenID failed, and I wasn't willing to give it more than 30 seconds, at the time. I figured I was well identified enough in words.

I have, multiple times, expressed interest before walking out of the apartment building. It's hard to be that decisive, but helpful. Good luck! The existence of one perfect apartment implies the existence of others.
