Wisdomtoothectomy in 30 days! Definitely getting the right ones out, and have to decide whether to get the left ones out too. (The left ones have never bothered me before. On the other hand, they're likely to get worse as I get older, and also harder to remove. Also, I have a significantly higher chance of nerve damage than in a normal wisdom tooth removal, which will also only get worse.)

That assumes there will be a second time! I guess I wasn't clear enough about the possibility (kinda low, but far from impossible) that I'll never need the other two done.

I just imagine that getting 4 yanked out is just as miserable as having 2 (since it just goes "difficult to eat" to "slightly more difficult to eat", not a 2x multiplier). So might as well just do it, I dunno.

Though I got all 4 yanked at once, so maybe 2 is a walk in the park. :p

I had to have one out at one point due to breakage and an infection, and I wanted to get all four, but couldn't schedule it at the time. When I had to get another yanked another due to breakage (before the infection, this time), bit the bullet (as it were), and let me tell you, it hurt less getting all three at once, and they healed up more quickly.

In other words, if the cost differential isn't prohibitive, better safe than sorry.

I have gotten mine done one at a time. Top left, then top right, both no problem. Bottom left, PROBLEM. Seriously uncomfortable. Took me over a week before I could chew again without pain. And that was just one side.

On second thought, maybe just get it over with. If you just had problems with Top only, I'd say just do the top ones now and leave the bottoms until you HAVE to.

Or you could remove the mean response of 3.80, in which case you might have troubles.

The problem one is bottom right (and it's not THAT big of a problem, but problem enough that it should come out), and we all agree that we might as well do a side all at once. So the question is whether to do the left also or not.

Also your other teeth adjust to fill the roominess of your mouth, maybe just do that all at once so they adjust symmetrically?

The problem with only doing 2 is that then the others will grow in, and when they don't have something to stop against (ie the two teeth you had removed) they'll keep growing, and the only way to stop this is to have special wire brace thingies put int. Trust me from experience, that wire brace thingie *sucks*. I had three second molars and one wisdom tooth removed because of a severe infection and then my wisdom teeth were allowed to grow in to where the second molars were (so I'm still 75% wise! Woohoo!), but for the several years it took all of that to happen I had a little mini brace between my one remaining second molar and the tooth next to it to keep it from growing and falling out, and it was really lame.

Well, not really. The pair I'm definitely getting removed is the top and bottom 3rd molars on the right, and the pair I'm considering is the same pair on the left. As far apart as possible.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh! That's different. I was thinking you meant "just the tops" or "just the bottoms."

I wouldn't be able to do that just because I'd hate the imbalance, but that's just little old slightly OCD me speaking... Just get it over with, man!

I'm generally against elective surgery. Why take more things out of your body than you need to?
