(no subject)

Okay, I've been bored a lot, but I finally figured out what's been missing in my life. And I can't believe it took me this long to realize it.

No, not a job.

Video games!

Seriously. I haven't played any in a long time, aside from a couple times a month at the arcade, or even less often at some friend's house.

So I've decided to wean myself off of this lack of video games. Starting slow, with stupid Yahoo! puzzle games. Then maybe I'll put in another replay of CT or FF9. Or finish the replay of FF1 I've already got going. During or after that, maybe I'll restart or resume DW3, 4, or 7 (man, I love that series, but there must be something wrong if I'm never compelled to get more than about 1/3 into the game); or buy some N64 classics like Mario64, Paper Mario, or a Zelda, since I happen to have an N64 laying around with practically no games. Then by the time that all bores me, I'll have a job, and reward myself with a PS2 and FFX, Kingdom Hearts, and FFX2. And if I get sick of RPGs....Genesis emulator. Sonic.

I feel much better about my life and my future now.

You referred to N64 games as "classics".

You are lost to MTV.

You need to get old school, trust me. Find an oringinal Nintendo and a few games. Trust me Mario, Mario 3 and Duck hunt will fill a void that has been unfilled and unnoticed for years

Anonymous dude has a point. I HIGHLY suggest the early DK countreys for Super Nintendo. You can download emulators and use your computer if you don't have SNE hanging around anymore.

Not at all...

Why do you Jews lie so much?

Josh, you rule. You also win the dork of the week award.

...and there's nothing wrong with trying some newer games. Most of them suck, but not all. (I am seriously starting to believe that there's an inverse relationship between graphic quality and plot quality for most games.)

I'm going to add a few games to the Classics list for you, Deshie-poo:

NES:
- Kirby's Adventure (one of the greatest SNES games ever made)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, the arcade port (Classic if I ever saw one)
- Contra, Super Contra, etc.
- Ducktales
- Legend of Zelda (c'mon, the original)

SNES:
- Super Mario Kart (The original will never die)
- Super Mario World
- Rock And Roll Racing (one of the BEST racing games ever made)

Try Puzzle Pirates (http://www.puzzlepirates.com). Talk about filling a need...
Beta ends in one week, and the Beta Tester Jewel-Encrusted Special is still available until then, 50 dinero for 2 years of play.

No, no, no. Given the N64 lineup of games, within it those are classics. That must be what he meant.

KINGDOM HEARTS!! that is a fabulous game, i love it muchly. :-)

Er, also, I think of Mtv as 'classic'. Does that make me weird?

ff6 rulez!!! Replay value though...I've only ever played it through twice, so I have no idea, but CT has awesome replay, as you know. DO that first.

Jeff Cohen is a genius

I find that Kirby's Adventure is one of the most underrated NES games. And its so freakin good!! The SNES one that I have seen was sok (you could ride around on hamsters, owls, squid, etc) but the original was the best.

Why Josh does NOT win the dork of the week award.

[identity profile] bumonyou.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I am so sorry Josh, but I must inform you of a committee decision to revoke your dork of the week award. The reason for this decison is as follows: you've been employed for months now and the thought just occurred to you to start playing video games now? For shame! You have wasted many valuable hours of variable ending searching on CT.

On the other hand, I might be in the running for mentioning the two following (unprompted) things to my boss: there were no elves at Helm's Deep; the sigil on Orlando Bloom's shirt bears a canny resemblance to that Led Zep icon..you know the one...

Bionic Commando? Anyone? And I never much played RPGs, but the one I did play was on computer, and was called Star Control 2. It was an absolutley amazing game with a compeling story, and great gameplay, with only descent replay value. It is now released in a free version called masters of ur-quan. Good game worth checking out! I am at work and bored!

P.S. YEA TOAST!
