I was just told this morning that the brother of one of my choir mates passed away (old age, so not as bad as some of the other people lost recently), which means that today I am leaving work early to order things for Friday's memorial service for my friend who committed suicide, then I'm going to the memorial picnic celebrating the birthday of my friend who died of cancer on Christmas day, but I have to leave that early to go to the wake of the brother of my choir mate.
I mean, at this point I'm used to it. After dealing with deaths due to (in order) cancer, cancer, heart attack, and suicide, attending the wake of the older brother of a man in his late 80's is actually somewhat comforting. It's nice to see someone dying naturally and quietly...
