Erk. Can you pick up an N-95 mask at a drug store on the way out? (2 yellow elastic bands, N-95 printed on the front, about $1.95 where I am.) I <3 mine. I wear them for allergy reasons, but they're SARS-proof (and just about everything else, including dust particles and other allergens) and will keep you from getting sicker from the air on the plane. They also keep the air you breathe moist and warm, reducing the likelihood of inhaled infections. :(
I'm asthmatic, so can't do the N-95 thing. I bought about 8 handi-packs of Kleenex and will cough into my a Kleenex if I have to cough. I HATE flying when I'm sick, and feel really bad about everyone around me. I'm hoping that the adage about being most contagious before you're symptomatic is true.
