Asante Samuel was returning an interception for a touchdown. The Vikings QB Tavaris Jackson tried to stop him. And Chris Clemons didn't just block him...he choke-slammed him into the ground, evoking memories of pro wrestling circa 1995. And it was legal, too!

so, one guy was throwing the ball, and then another guy got in the way, so a third guy knocked him down, and ... how is this different from the rest of the football game? they run, they fall down, they run some more...

Usually you have to be very sweet, nice, and careful with the guy throwing the ball, even when tackling him. But, if he inserts himself into the situation as a run-of-the-mill player you can do wrestling moves on him with no repercussions. It's an expectancy violation thing :)
