OK, it took until 5 minutes ago for me to learn that there was something called Weather Underground that was not Weather Underground.

I was wondering why Obama's alleged friendship with a meteorologist was such a big deal...

If it helps, I'm still wondering why his association with a professor who's politically active on behalf of the poor is such a big deal. The GOP acts like the man didn't turn himself in and have 40 years to change. It'd be like pointing out John McCain associated with guys who killed innocent children by dropping bombs on villages around the same time frame - except he was associating with them at the time of the actions in question. All of this, of course, back when Obama hadn't gone through puberty yet.

I'm pretty sure all parties have had a few changes in their lives since.

I know, I know... it's just becoming such a pushbutton for me that I feel the need to drop that line whenever I see it. It's right up there with the soundbite the RNC is using about "dropping bombs on villages."

Yeah, I imagine the service wasn't around in the 60s. ;)

However, I'm sure the RNC will gladly set you straight on how your supposedly independent forecast website actually shows a distinct liberal bias.

Yes, it took me a while.

I'm beyond amused that you didn't realize. I, obviously, for years read weatherunderground forecasts instead of weather.com because i assumed it was linked to the activist group or in some way to revolutionary something, and therefore was More Radical Weather Forecasting than the other guy. Actually it's just a different forecasting site. But, good niche marketing there! Clever!
