First I learned that the rest of y'all haven't heard of snow numbers, and now I'm being led to believe that some of y'all had to wait until Sunday to read the Sunday comics growing up? What is the world coming to?!?!

For values of "heard of" where I'd only heard of it when I moved to the Northeast for college. But I've never experienced it being packaged this way. I have noticed, though, in the NE, they put out their Sunday papers for sale earlier, like Saturday afternoon, and the comics would be on top, so you could at least read the front page of comics while standing in line at the grocery store. I don't think I ever saw "early release" Sunday papers in the Bay Area, though.

Our paper was the SF Chronicle, and Sunday comics came with the Sunday paper. But I didn't get to read them until after church.

[livejournal.com profile] hyounpark hadn't heard of the "Saturday" comics thing until I just mentioned it to him, right now, so from that I guess you can extrapolate that whatever the local Knoxville paper was had their Sunday comics on Sundays. *G*

In NJ (ie - closer to NY) we got most of the Sunday paper on Saturday. In FL, it all comes out on Sunday.

At least for the NYTimes.

In Washington the Sunday paper comes out on Sunday. But I think my grandparents in Haverford received it Saturday. I also think they received the whole thing, not just parts of it.

Our newspaper had no Sunday edition. There were extra colour comics that came on Saturday that I guess were the Sunday comics? I dunno, they called them the "colour comics". There were no other extra sections or anything though -- there was actually less regular newspaper content on Saturday than other days.

I delivered our paper!

I got the insert and the main paper separately, and had to stuff them, but this all took place on Sunday mornings.
