Remind of to never take Greyhound again. I took Amtrak down here and it was lovely. I'm taking a bus back because I'm less pressed for time... but let me tell you, it's well worth the $40ish price difference to not have to wait in the station for an hour and a half when your first bus is overbooked by a dozen people, to not have a broken seat with just the two reclining settings of Rapt Attention and Stranger's Lap, and to have non-rude staff people. Yes, LJ. I went to DC this weekend. Apologies to those I didn't get to see, or even let know I was visiting, but I had such a fantastic time that I'll definitely have to do it again soon, and I'll try to let you know I'm coming that time. I was going to type a full update now, but it's too tedious on the phone keypad, I'm getting carsick, and I can't figure out how to type a paragraph break. So, more later. Bye, LJ!

Not to mention not having to fight traffic and having a power outlet at every seat if you bring a laptop. I'll take a commuter rail over Amtrak to save money, but its never worth it to take the bus.

yes, i'll help remind you of that if you help remind me! it's so hard to keep that in mind given that the bus costs half as much as the train and they are both fairly convenient (when not pressed for time, and depending on the trip the train can actually take longer).

glad to hear you had a good time.

I can tell that you sent this from your cell phone. But that's book.

Amtrak is fantasticaly comfortable. Says I, just off a 14 hour bus ride. Though if you do find yourself strapped for cash in the future, I think the Chinatown busses are actually a better experience than Greyhound. They're actually first come first served, and most of the time you don't have to show up real early (if it's not, say, Thanksgiving). Of course, they're probably less safe, and they don't do redeyes.

I don't remember if you'd invited me to go with you or not, but turns out I could have gone...long story.
