My company is hiring people for my department and people for other departments too.

EXACTLY. Josh, unless you are sharing these as a joke (which reading the ads, they are pretty laughable) you should really tell your -friends- how relative "much more stable" is to you know, the logical definition of "stable."

But, "stable" or not, lay offs followed by hiring (note, the hiring is for contractors for Josh's position, which takes forever to learn and now involves doing just about everything) is not a great sign on its own. Ugh, I don't even know if you can call that analyst ad a "job" so much as "something to do with all of your time until you go to do something completely different in six months."

I'll add my completely unbiased opinion: stay away!!! Good intentions only go so far.
