Another step on the inexorable decline toward grownuphood

I went to a party tonight at which every single guy except for me (and one other guy who was in town for a geologists conference) was wearing either a sweater or a shirt with a collar.

Though I got an average of one compliment every 10 minutes on my Threadless shirt, so I'd say things came out to a net plus.

American Apparel is problematic. Like, made in the USA and the workers are paid well, good! But, the owner is a huge pig, there are numerous sexual harrassment suits against him (he tried to make sexual harrassment part of the work contract, i.e. being hired by him means you know are working in a "sexualized environment" but, whoops, it's not legal to take peoples' rights away like that), and even though his workers are treated pretty well, he's really anti-union.

It's just confusing. Decent wages, made in the USA, no sweatshop, why not just be completely do-goodery and get rid of the harrassment of women and unions! I don't get it.

I just meant party season as in Halloween parties, lots of last minute political junk, and then all the numerous holiday/work stuff. Guess birthdays are all year round though.
