August of Awesomeness, version 5

Again starting early, and, as promised last year, featuring for the first time ever the two-week mid-August brain-breaking socially-overloaded emotion-fucking-with crazy-transition-ful Awesomeness Of A Lifetime, so titled because it may not be survivable:

Tuesday, July 25th: Harry Potter 6 in paperback
Friday, July 28th through Sunday, July 30th: Shabbat in DC
Monday, August 7th through Sunday, August 13th: Havurah Institute
Sunday, August 13th: Yossi and Jamie's wedding in Teaneck!
Monday, August 14th through Sunday, August 20th: Philly Folk Fest
Sunday, August 20th: Charley and Megan's wedding in Rochester!
Monday, August 21st: Back to work after two weeks off from a real, permanent, full-time, not-going-bankrupt job that I will never ever take for granted especially since I've never returned to such a thing in August before
Sunday, August 27th: TFIA concert at Upper Merion Park
Thursday, August 31st through Monday, September 4th: Visting Florida?

hey, if i do come home august 8, which is definitely a possibility - would I be able to get on the committee at fest? and do I even need to ask for a ride....

As usual, I can drive you there but not back...but the timing is a bit tighter than in past years, since I'm only planning to be home for roughly 18 hours before leaving for Fest. And as for getting on the committee...I'd recommend talking to Diana sooner rather than later. I'll email you her email address...

I'm almost definitly going to be at the Folk Fest (must remember to bug boyfriend about that). Got crash space? If not, that's cool, we'll find something.

Ahh, I didn't know locals camped out as well as out-of-towners.

I think Brewer and I would be fine with doing the tent thing, but I don't know what Mark would think of that idea. I'll poke him about it and let you know what our plans are closer to the date so that if nothing else we can at least meet up. It's looking like we're only going to be there Friday night until Sunday afternoon, as Mark works and I'll hopefully have a job by then.

Sounds good! Just know that it's quite hard to find a campsite for anything more than a small tent by Friday. You'll be able to, but you won't have much choice as to where it is. (And I'm leaving Saturday night.)

If not, there are some hotels in the area, but it's far enough away from everything that you probably won't find someone you know who lives in the area.

Reha Sterbin was someone else I was going to poke. One of the advantages of a boyfriend-with-car is that, well, he has a car, so even if we get a place to stay that's pretty far away we can always get a parking spot within three miles of the fest.

Or am I kidding myself?

Oh, no, parking's fine. Lots of people don't camp, and they're well accomodated. I just wouldn't find it so fun to drive an hour there and back every day.
