Reprising a poll question I first posed over 4 years ago and in a different medium, because I'm looking for some light online discussion to brighten up this dreary monday morning at work:

[Poll #724739]

See, if you had included concerts and stuff like that, I would have responded with the second option, since my first kiss wasn't all that great. [And yeish omrim: OMG! Rachel the cute little formerly shomeret nagiah girl has actually kissed guys? But she's too sweet and innocent! You're making this all up.] Seeing Dar, and Arlo, and Natalie Macmaster, and Eddie From Ohio, now those are great memories.

Though right now I would rather kiss a guy than go to a concert, depending on the guy...

[Is this TMI?]

I don't have a best sporting event memory. ;P

I guess "wasn't all that great" is subjective. I mean that's in terms of comparison with other guys I've hooked up with since. But at the time it was all very exciting, if unexpected. Actually, now that I think of it, it was a good memory. Because up until then I was thoroughly convinced that I was too ugly for a guy to want to hook up with me, since everyone else in NFTY was hooking up, and somehow it never happened for me. Now of course, I realize it was because 1.I have standards [I could have found one of those guys who was a man-whore {like a NFTY equivalent of your typical frat boy} and hooked up with him theoretically] and 2.The cute and little thing still applied back then, and I actually was sweet and innocent. And I was too nice, so the guys respected me more than I respected myself at the time. And this guy hadn't met me before, so I didn't have enough time to be considered "sweet and innocent." I don't think he knows that he was my first kiss, and I only saw him at 1 event afterwards, and then never again.

So it wasn't horrible, and although he was a bad kisser, I didn't really know that at the time, so it was all good.

I guess I lucked out because I was already 16 by then, and I feel like those horror stories are more likely to happen in middle school or something.

I have to say, I noticed the lopsidedness of your question. And I'll admit, I wasn't necessarily thinking of my first kiss. But, while I've enjoyed going to some sporting events, I felt like I've had many more amazing kisses.

Besides, I'm not even sure what my first kiss was. Does playing "kiss tag" when I was in elementary school count? What about dares to kiss my "boyfriend" when I was in middle school?

I guess my first real kiss happened at the Philadelphia Folk Festival - but since there were two guys I kissed that fest, and one (the first) ended up stalking me (for a couple years, actually), I prefer to just remember the second. His kiss was very nice.

hell yes sports events.

I'm not really a sporting events type of person at all, generally. But my first kiss was awful and I had some amazing time in marching band during the high school footbal games. Who knew.

i think your forgetting something here. Ibeleive most of your readers are from the philly area, and were all to young to have any "Good" philly sports experiences. I mean, i was at game 1 of the stanley cup where we got destroyed 3-0, i mean it was cool, but not as cool as making out.

I liked my first real kiss, it's a memory that sticks with me, certainly. But, it's been a while and I think some of the glamour has faded. My best experience as a spectator at a sporting event is a really fresh memory, only about a year old. I chose it over the first kiss, not because of the actual content of the sport per se (it was a not-so-great Detroit Tigers baseball game), but because it was something I experienced with friends. I had a really great time and learned more baseball, which I've honestly never even really watched on TV. Even if I hadn't gone to that game last summer, the other great sporting event memory I have is going to tennis matches with my dad, but again, it wasn't so much about the tennis, though I know more about that than baseball, it was about hanging out with my dad.

I don't how I would rank them if I had to decide based on the content of the experience, mediocre kiss vs. mediocre baseball game?

My first kiss was wicked entertaining, though admittedly they've gotten better with practice. And then there's the nostalgia element. I like the concert ammendment, but it wouldn't change my answer.

1. I'm a huge baseball fan.

2. My first kiss is why I started wondering if I liked girls. It was with a guy, and it was that bad. hehe.

P.S.- One thing I'm really looking forward to about being back in Atlanta for a few weeks before JRF: Braves baseball!
