(no subject)

Day 6, and matzah fatigue is setting in. It's happening later than last year, due to my plan to eat as much normal food (veggies, potatoes, meat) and as little passover-specfic food (macaroons, gefilte fish, passover muffins) as possible. But it's still happening.

Meanwhile, I brought in an extra box of matzah to work and left it on an empty table for public consumption. And lots of people in my department (especially the non-Jews) are happily munching away. I had to refill it today. I don't get it.

I think basically, it's there, it's crunchy and it's something new. Though, unless you pile it high with ham, cheese, and all sorts of heathen goodies, matzah is pretty boring. Just like most other types of crackers when you get down to it.

LOL...them non-Hebrews sure do love the matsa.

In my experience, matsa = fun giant cracker. Unless you have to eat it every year ritualistically and while craving real starch for 8 days. Then it sucks.

I am, in fact, eating an Italian sausage sandwich at the moment. Hippie.

I don't even mind the matzah, it's the lack of tea and lack of popsicles and lack of good soup and lack of something that will make me feel better that's problematic.

I'm sure the first thing that happens when one converts to Judaism is that their cravings for matzah just go away. *Poof*

Yeah, passover-specific food is disgusting. I think I've had about three or four pieces of matzah altogether this pesach. Of course, it helps that I'm allowing myself to eat not only all kitniyot but also pretty much anything that isn't *actually bread*, or cake or a cookie. Like, fried chicken patties. Whatever it's still hard enough. Looking forward to Thursday...

I think it's easier if you don't *have* to eat it.
