I splurged and got a new watch today. Same concept as my old watch, but much fancier. It's essentially a wristwatch PDA (no big deal now, but imagine how cool that was when I got it in 1996). Unfortunately, it connects via USB now, rather than the bizarre optical transmission of the old one, which involved holding the watch in front of a computer monitor while white horizontal lines kept blinking on and off. I miss the coolness that that provided, but at least now I feel like a cyborg when I have a USB cable hooked up to my wrist.
It's so much more powerful than the old one! I didn't even know what iCal was before today, but now I have the entire Phillies 2005 schedule and Philadelphia Shabbat candlelighting times for the rest of 2005 in my watch.
