We're all gonna die.

Via [livejournal.com profile] pleonastic:

Erm. An asteroid with almost a 3% chance of hitting Earth? That's pretty scary-sounding. Better hurry and get done everything I need to get done in the next 25 years...

I mean, look at what a 4 on the Torino Scale means! Scary!

EDIT: It's gone, but the screenshot remains.

Dude, you must chill. We've got plenty of time to destroy ourselves well before then...

yeah don't you think that over 22,000 people dying yesterday in Asia is a little scarier...

Well, if this means possible disaster flick fodder, then so be it. What I really want is one set in Philadelphia. For some reason, I'd like to see famous landmarks get destroyed here...I'm sick of New York getting all the mayhem.

But really what I want is a monster movie to be set here. Man oh man would that be sweet.

And no I don't actually want an asteroid to hit the Earth, but if it's going to, Bruce Willis better be for hire.

Wow, that was quick

By the time I clicked on it, it had been reclassified as a maximum of 1 on the Torino scale. 2004 MN4, right?

[identity profile] jdcohen.livejournal.com 2004-12-28 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's downgraded to 1 in 56,000 odds that MN4 will hit us now. Here's the link (and the Slashdot article). The sheer terror was nice while it lasted.
