Top 7 grad programs that interest me

Top 7 grad programs that interest me. In approximate order of how interested I am. As I've said for awhile, I'll probably try for one just as soon as I'm interested enough in one that it rises above the others. Which could be years and years away, and that's fine.

1. MBA, probably specializing in logistics or some other less common specialty. (Edit: Non-profit management? Do good and be not-poor at the same time? Do they even have that specialty?)
2. Masters in Linguistics
3. Masters in Library Science
4. Law school
5. Professional baseball umpiring school
6. Whatever sort of degree you need nowadays to teach high school
7. Some sort of Ph.D. in communications, sociology, linguistics, or some combination thereof, studying internet communication

Yes, math is not on there at all. I've come to terms with this.

re: 6 --

Many states just require a BA with a concentration in pre-teaching (usually a certain number of credit hours of educational theory, etc) and student teaching. If you've already done the BA, you can sometimes do a quick one-year preprofessional track, or do your Masters in education.

What? No Evil Genius programs on the list?

Has grad school been in your plans for awhile, or is this a recent development? Now that I'm close to leaving school, grad school is looking more and more attractive.

Not that I'm advocating against an MA in Linguistics or anything (people in glass houses shouldn't call the kettle black, and all that) but just keep in mind that it's not a very useful degree. There are some jobs for computational linguists (which is, I'm guessing, what you're interested in) but not a whole lot of 'em, as far as I know.

That being said, if you DO go back for linguistics, I expect to hear all about it. My brain may be atrophying from all the TV I'm watching, but I've still got enough left to mooch the learning from other people.

Library Science? The others sound cool...

If you want to do something with a math undergrad, I was at a Public Health grad school forum thing today and they said that the market is great for biostatisticians nowadays. And I thought of you. just so you know.
