I still have a thing when walking on sidewalks where if I step on a crack with one foot I feel the need to make sure my other foot steps on the next crack. If my pace causes me to step on every crack with the same foot, I will alter my pace to "even things out". Here in downtown Seattle, I avoid crosswalk stripes every time I can because they are exactly as far apart as my pace, so I end up stepping on the stripe with the same foot every time. It especially drives me crazy because the stripes are raised, so it feels weird on my foot.
