end of an era

Curt Schilling retired today. He was the last of the 1993 Phillies, still my favorite team ever (yes, even now that I've rooted for a champion), and a defining team for maybe half a generation of die-hard Philadelphia sports fans.

I grew up a little bit more today.

Now you know how lost I was when Reggie Jackson retired. Okay, I'm only kidding, but that was the last athlete whose name I really recognized. Well, except OJ that is, but who remembers that he was foot ball player?
