Re: translate!

Briyah and Assiyah are two hebrew words meaning "creation", with different connotations. They refer to two of the kabbalistic "four worlds", and refer to the next-to-"highest" world and "lowest" world, respectively. Using this analogy for how I felt (though there is perhaps some literal truth in it and is therefore more than an analogy), I felt as if I was being forced from a higher world, one focused on the intellectual, too far to a lower world, one focused on the physical.

During kabbalistic meditation, which I have not tried, it is important to gradually shift between the worlds, in the same way a SCUBA diver cannot quickly dive or surface. Right now, using my analogy, I feel comfortably in the world of yetzirah, the one between briyah and asiyah, and will be ready for asiyah soon. I'll take out the trash tomorrow.
