The $350 rainstorm
When leaving KZ last night, I got caught in an absurdly torrential downpour. I had my suitcase with me, and it was getting drenched. When I got back to where I was going, it seemed mostly dry. But today, I found out that my phone was not. It wouldn't turn on. So I just bought a replacement for about $350. (If mine works a week from now, after drying some, I'll return the replacement. But that doesn't seem likely.)
Then I turned on the replacement and checked my email, only to find 424 identical Russian spam LJ comments. I spent the entire train trip home deleting them. (And I only missed one!)
Some start to the vacation. Tomorrow will be better.
