Tying up some loose ends:
What's an e/n site, you ask? e/n stands for "everything/nothing". The best way I can describe e/n, I guess, is a group blog site that provided some other content as well. Essays, interviews, and that sort of thing. Though I might be missing something, because I was only tangentially involved in the e/n world. As far as I could tell, the term fell into disuse because it described such a small niche as to be useless. Though some of you say that there are still e/n sites around? Links, please?
I led Psukei D'Zimrah at Penn again. I like that I've so quickly been able to make it from something that I "can do" and "did" to something that I just
do. In that spirit, this is all I'm going to say about it.
I finally got DDR. (Well, ordered. It's coming this week.) And I decided not to join the Penn gym on that plan. I think between DDR and my usual
summer Frisbee league, I'll get enough exercise. Plus, the idea of the Penn gym on that plan isn't as appealing anymore, because...
I got a job! Well, sort of. I got a low-paying summer job with the
National Havurah Committee, the organization that runs the Havurah Institute every August that I so love, and that helped change my life. I'll be doing office work and event planning stuff over the summer, as one of two paid staff members, in preparation for the Institute. This means that I get to go to the Institute this year, which would have either been in doubt financially if I hadn't found a job, or in terms of time off if I had. I also get to fully experience the 2005 version of
August of Awesomeness. This job neatly starts right after AbuseFest and ends right before Folk Fest. I can use the summer to look for a permanent job in a more relaxed way. And working at the Institute is a small price to pay for all of this. I'm really, really happy about this.
