Okay, what the hell is up with "Save the cheerleader save the world"? I know what show it is, and I know it's this amazing show or something...and it had better be, to make up for a tagline like that.

...yeah, I'll probably start downloading it in a week or two.

I'm a friend of Nuqotw, and found your LJ via her friend list.

That being said, I can give you a basic idea what it means (I have relatives who are major fans), but the explanation is _highly_ spoiler-y. Just to be forewarned.

You kind of have to watch it to understand. I could explain it, but it wouldn't be the same.

Seconding the anon there -- the explanation of the tagline (which, yes, is one of the worst taglines I've ever seen for a tv show, yet somehow it fits), is really really spoilery. Alan and I just burst out laughing the first time they pulled it out in the show, because ... "Save the cheerleader, save the world"? In what world does anyone think that'd inspire anything but giggling. We didn't think they were serious the first time. :)

You should be watching it, since it's right up your alley (I think). I have been recording it since the first episode, if you'd like to arrange some sort of exchange over Thanksgiving. But only if you're nice.

They're totally not serious. That's how great the show is! It's aware of how over-the-top it gets sometimes, and it still manages to be exciting and dramatic as all hell!

I second that, except without the whole recording and sharing bit, since I haven't been recording it. ^^;;

It's an interesting show in that it's slow and not show, and predictable and not all at the same time. I like it, a lot, but a lot of my friends with whom I tend to share TV tastes don't . . . (then again, they all like Lost, and I can't stand it).
