[livejournal.com profile] dagoski outlines what a truly pro-life agenda actually looks like.

But progress does come excrutiatingly slowly when it does come, doesn't it? The Committee on Jewish Law & Standards, the ultra-secretive group of rabbis who make Jewish-legal decisions for the Conservative movement, yesterday took up the issue of ordaining gay rabbis. They debated 4 different ways of interpreting the laws on homosexuality and how they apply to the rabbinate (even though the text of these 4 ways still isn't public). And late in the day, black smoke poured out of JTS. They pushed off making a decision until December.

Oh, and for those of you who haven't heard, LJ will start having ads. The concept bothered me at first, but now I think the way they're doing it is 90% of a fair, sensible ad policy. I have hopes that they fix the 10% before this becomes reality. I'll be happy as long as it looks exactly like this in the end.

And damn, I'm exhausted. I have a lot more to say, but it'll have to wait.
