I'm pretty sure there's only 9 Beatles albums. But it's still disturbing that five of the top ten are Beatles.

mwahaha you have been discovered!!
...and I wasn't even looking.

anyway, just wanted to throw in a little sibling rivalry and my two cents: good riddance to the countdown, the music will be much better now.

and Desh, you missed quite a weekend, but I hope you had fun at said Friday night event.

i'm only a half-assed LJer (ok maybe 3/4-assed), and I asked him once but he wouldn't tell me! told me I could figure it out if i tried...

oh yeah and the one problem I have with this countdown is that they should really call it the top 885 greatest ANGLO albums or something... because if it was up to me shlomo artzi, idan raichel and the rest of them would be way up there. not to mention vissotsky (though I'm not sure he came out with albums since he was doing stuff underground) and all the other excellent music from around the world...

[identity profile] lord-emo.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't tell you!?! Why on earth wouldn't I tell you - I've known yours, and you could even read my LJ for all I care (not that you'd want to), I just thought we had an unspoken agreement to ignore eachother's existence in the world of online journals. And you broke it!!!!
P.S. You don't have an icon. Everybody likes pictures I thought...

Yeah, I would probably kick in a few foreign or more esoteric albums to that list as well - Infected Mushroom's B.P. Empire, Crystal Method's Vegas, Nickel Creek's self-titled album, Koop's Waltz For Koop, Astrud Gilberto's Beach Samba, her daughter Bebel Gilberto's self-titled album, and Thievery Corporation's Cosmic Game. At the very LEAST, Astrud. I mean, João made the list (with Stan Getz) - but he's not as good without his ex-wife, in my opinion. That, and both Nickel Creek and Thievery Corporation kick ass.

I thought you were the one who didn't want me invading your cyberspace! I told you once a long time ago that i'd read your blog (not your lj) and you didn't seem too happy. I was unaware of said unspoken agreement... Maybe that's cause you never said anything about it! Eh we've never been so fond of toeing the line anyway...

PS:i like pictures, I just never came up with anything i wanted to use as an icon (not that i looked very hard...) so i'm open to suggestions.

so in that blank space there it's supposed to say [/sibling rivalry] with angle brackets, but apparently it got translated into html... oh well...

[identity profile] intangiblehugs.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
ok let's stop monopolizing desh's comment space...

[identity profile] intangiblehugs.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
too bad!!!!!!!! i have to go to class!!!!!!!!!

[identity profile] intangiblehugs.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
getting so many comments makes you feel loved, doesn't it?

[identity profile] lord-emo.livejournal.com 2005-10-28 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
<sibling-rivalry>How's this for sibling rivalry?</sibling-rivalry>
Yes, perhaps I did feel like that. I suppose it's a rather new sentiment that I've never posted anything I wouldn't want you to read.

how come it doesn't disappear your pseudo-html? no fair!
